What does a triangle in a problem answer mean?

Wed Sep 2, 2009, 4:05 PM
I was reading the book for problem 455, and the answer has two white stones marked by triangles. Obviously they had not been captured, and no one plays where they are in the problem (or could, for that matter). They stay in the same place for the remainder of the problem. So what does it mean, that they're dead? :?

There is no paragraph next to it, just a lot of miniature diagrams. Plus the book is Chinese...
